Planning The Working Mom Balance
If you are a working mom it is extremely important that you plan the work life balance or else you will find that you will be spending all of your time working and your family life will most definitely suffer. What this really boils down to is that you must be prepared to say no at work. If your boss asks you to stay late to do some extra work you are going to be faced with a tricky situation but you have got to be prepared to stand up for yourself.

Hello holidays, entertaining your children now that school is over
Now that the school holidays are here many moms and dads are asking themselves what they can do to entertain their children. Many parents seem to absolutely dread the school holidays which is a shame because it doesn’t have to be a stressful time, in fact for many parents stress doesn’t even come into it.
The first thing to get out of the way is the misconception that the school holidays have to cost an absolute fortune, They can cost a fortune if you let them but it is possible to have an absolute brilliant time without spending a great deal of money.

Stay at home moms vs working moms
This argument has been going on for years and many people have very strong views on which is best, a working mom or a stay at home mom. I think that it goes without saying that a stay at home mom is best for the children in that there will always be someone there for them and having a stay at home mom will make the children feel more secure.

The joys of becoming a work from home mum
It really is a breeze to be a work from home mum. Because I have my own online business I can work when I want to work not when someone else tells me to. This means that I will often work when my son is at school so that I can spend quality time with him and watch him grow up.
I first started working from home when I went to university as I soon realised that I had no choice if I wanted to leave university debt free which I soon did!

The pressure to keep up with the Joneses
There has always been this great pressure to keep up with the Jones’s and this problem has been around for many, many decades and I have often felt this pressure in my own life.
As an only child to parent that I would consider to be middle class and have a comfortable pension there is always this pressure to follow their lead whether we want to or not. The need to look good at all times and to feel like we fit in among their friends.

Why I love the idea of the 1950’s mum
Even though I live in a very modern world, I have always had old fashioned beliefs and I have been fascinated by the 1950’s and their way of life. The 1950’s was full of positive thoughts after getting over the affects of the second world war.
Most importantly women had been given the opportunity to be allowed to work and look after their children at the same time. There was no longer this question over their ability to be able to pull off both tasks on a daily basis. The ladies of the 40’s and 50’s changed it for us so that we would be given the chance to have our cake and eat it.

Welcome to confessions of a working mum
Hello everyone,
Welcome to my new blog confessions of a working mum. This is where I talk about everything to do with being a happy working mum and juggling it with my full time job as an internet marketer.
I have been happily married for the past seven years and also have a beautiful eight year old son who is my little darling. I live in the beautiful region of the Algarve in southern Portugal and spend my days on the beach playing football with my son and watching the world go by.
